A new way to learn how to carry out PAT Testing. Complete each module online; using a mix of reading and watching videos; then complete a short test at the end of each module to check you progress, before moving onto the next module. At the end of the course, book a live 121 skype or zoom call with Tim James to check your knowledge, ask any questions and complete a short practical test before being awarded with a certificate of competence.

Each participant will have a live 121 session (via Skype or Zoom or similar) during the training programme to check their knowledge and to ask any questions. They will also demonstrate their abilities to prove they can pat test before being awarded a certificate of competence.
Tim James, founder and MD of PAT Testing Expert will be your guide through this online training programme. He’s been involved in the industry for more than 30 years, and been teaching PAT Testing for more than 25 years. He was on the IET committee that recently updated the Code of Practice and is also Standards Director of the Portable Appliance Testing Trade Association (PATTA)

How it works
PAT Testing Masterclass is a way to learn how to carry out this vital health and safety task, from the comfort of your home or workplace. We've always believed that the best way to learn a practical subject such as PAT Testing is to DO it - and that's why our practical training courses held across the UK have been so successful over many years. However, the Covid-19 pandemic has changed the way many of us work and interact, and so the PAT Testing Masterclass provides a new way to learn. Many people have told us that they've watched an hour long DVD in the past but found it either out of date, or not detailed enought to provide actual useful information. Many DVDs are produced by manufacturers of test equipment and so have a massive bias towards their equipment. This masterclass is different - you'll complete a series of modules online, which consist of video and text materials, and then complete a short test as the end of each section to check your knowledge before moving on to the next section. But you'll also have a live one-to-one session with your tutor towards the end of the process - this will allow you to ask any questions, check your knowledge and also demonstrate your ability to your tutor before getting a certificate of competence as you reach the end of the programme.
